you stood upon a tree your tongue familiar to me there’s always more time until it runs away the last of the reasons you have go away once your problems are solved and the only thing you wish for is something to wish for and the only time that you want to die is when a new day is right around the corner and you feel alive when you are closest to dying and the lights are going out and you look forward to what’s behind you you lay awake on the pier and your friends are all back at the fire and the night sky is beautiful when you’re away from the city lights the last of the reasons you have go away once your problems are counted for and the only thing you wish for is something to wish for and the only time that you want to die is when a new day is right around the corner and you feel alive when you are closest to dying and the lights are going out and you look forward to what’s behind you and everything would go on despite you disappearing so i guess that we really don’t have control over anything at all

Tom and I both wrote and recorded songs on our back porches on April 17, 2017, on opposite ends of the world.

I came up with my melody and lyrics during an experience in the summer of 2016, which Tom cleverly references in his lyrics. We definitely take a lot of influence from eachother (but the back porch thing is a coincidence).
